Ford 6.0 Powerstroke

Re:Ford 6.0 Powerstroke
Thats it exactly TPilaske!!! I think our engines run quite similar in stock form. When I go across the pass here(Wa state) , pulling our 30 ft trailer, I have to drop into low2. Now mind you I think I could pull just about any grade and as much weight as the truck can handle, but i run it up to 3000 rpm and hold it there till I get to the top. It don't heat up and seems like it would do it all day but soon as I drop it in drive it can't maintain the speed (about 50 mph). I'm fixen to start the power mods but I have to sneek them in. My wife doesn't think I need to mess with the truck "It runs just fine". So a down pipe is first then gauges and chip. Later 8) WRP

tpilaske if you are refering to the grade on I-40 just before you get into ashville it is a 6% grade

the problem with this grade is is it just seems to sneek up on you if you are not paying attention

it really dont look that steep till you start up the hill

but it is 5 miles long and there is no flat places to recover speed if you ever get behind a slower car

we go up it several times a year as we dont live that far from it

i am grossing out at around 16k

the first time i pulled it with my new tt and new truck was last year with only about 1500 miles on it

this year i should have about 10k miles on it and want to see if it makes any difference

seen a lot of cars and trucks on side of road on this mtn, it is tough

Talking abouthigh revving. I was at a ford dealership browsing (I was droppin my friends stang off cause the computer could no longer read the key and he couldn't get the car started. Stupid ford ;D) and looked at a new 6.0L. They redline at 4500. At least on the tach they do. I thought that this was kind of interesting.
