The Stratopore (LF 3894) is the best filter for your engine....
- Strength and durability
- Less compromise of efficiency and life due to multi-layering
- Organic contaminant tolerance
- Lower filter restriction
plus they dont VOID your engine warranty !!!!

To me it looks like all data is provided by Baldwin. There is NO mention anywhere (that I can find) of an independant testing lab involved in this testing. Im not saying a Baldwin is a bad filter - I just find it hard to believe studies and findings like this when all the data comes from the manufacturer. To be totally accurate, the experimentation should come from some impartial scientific source.
I never understand guys that are willing to risk damaging a 10k engine to save a dollar on an oil filter. I dont buy the "I cant find a Fleetguard" excuse either.....in my part of the world, they are much easier to find than Baldwin.
To each his own....good luck.

The Baldwin literature doesn't indicate if they're comparing to the cellulose or stratapore filter (probably cellulose).
I put a Baldwin on my 2001 but noticed the oil holes in the top were smaller than the Stratapore so figured it at least would induce less resistance to oil flow than the Baldwin.
I'm confident the Stratapore is the best thing you can put on.
Here's an interesting PDF. Man I'd like to put Fleetguards Combo filter on that incorporates bypass and full-flow filtering into one filter! http://www.up.ac.za/academic/chemeng...Fleetguard.pdf

I use Baldwin filters for everything... Oil, Fuel and tranny... just because Cummins makes the fleetguard doesn't make it the "best" thing to use... Of course they would say it's all you should use... it boost's their sales... I'm sure there are plenty of others that are suitable and/or better....
