expanding 4 inch exhaust

I just called a muffler shop and asked them if they could expand 4" pipe to fit over a 4" pipe. He said he could do it. I asked how much and he just made up $10 per piece! What a rip. I could just do it with their tool!

You will pay more for a 4" coupling and two clamps so $10 to expand the pipe isn't all that bad. A guy has to pay for his tools somehow.

I went to Apache Muffler today for the pipe expanding. At first, I thought I might just have them cut some pipe I had and expand it so I could do the install of my cat on my own. We put the truck up on the lift to get under it and see if my huge cat would fit next to the frame and it did. I just let them do the whole install for $90, which seems to be really good! I am very pleased. They did nice welds on each side of the cat and made the cat with the pipe on each end as long as the section that I had them take out so they could be interchangeable. They have tons of pipe, mufflers, and cats there and it's a pretty cool little shop. They had it done in no time and I watched. I supplied a 4" pipe for them to use, but they just used their own and I kept mine. They also welded on a little support hanger in the very back to replace the hanger that I had made with cheap stuff.
