E320 Bluetec
The diesels are coming, the diesels are coming. Can you say supply and demand, and we thought the cost of diesel was high! the first of many...

I looked those over to some extent at the Chicago Auto Show. Actually more intrest in it than I would have thought which is a good thing.
My comments on this car - there's a great drivetrain hiding out under a very superficially over-loaded car. (and similarly priced) I'm convinced that Sat-Nav's, as well as those dreaded "start" buttons are close to being the bane of society, if not the very understanding of the car itself. Did you know, for example, that it takes Longer to start a car with all these "goodies" on it - as you must acknowledge a disclaimer screen on the Sat-Nav every time the car is started? ALso that startbutton must be depressed, and held, both when the car is started as well a when it's shut down. It's sort of like turning on a non-SLR digital camera - it has to initialize before it can start.
How about putting the drivetrain in a car that wasn't designed to excite the video-game culture? Too bad it's so buried.

Have I ever mentioned that I think Chrysler would kill the competition if they stuck either the 220 or the 320 Diesel in a CHARGER?
C'mon Chrysler, I KNOW you monitor these boards..........

I'll stick with pre-bluetec technology. Much, much better fuel mileage on the older model 92 and newer diesel 320s than what the new junk offers. They were rated at 38 mpg and pulled down 40 and 41 mpg on the highway. The emissionized 320 claims 32 on the highway. My Supercharged Buick Regal GS will pull down 31 to 32 mpg on the interstate and run high 13s in the 1/4 to boot. I don't see the benefit of the diesel since they destroyed the effiency of the engine. However I'd trade the Buick for a 99ish 320 in a heartbeat.

I think it already exists in Europe, if I'm not fully mistaken. Check Chrysler's worldwide site...and yes, that would be great!

Now that is what I'm interested in. If I have to give up some of my passing power I want it back in mileage gains.
