Diesel Hybrid

My Father has a Duramax. It had 152,000 miles on it and it blew up on the way down to Or'leans to help clean up. STUPID CHEVY company won't help pay for the damages to the motor. The injectors had gone out 3 times before we bought it from a Truck Dealer Ship. It had then gone out 2 more times and the last time was in MS.
We now need info. on help or suggestions to how a 5.9L CUMMINS will fit in a 02 Duramax. Thanx.
My dad liked Chevy not Me(the son)

you say it blew up, can you offer a bit more info on what happened, lots of durmaxes over that mileage, like double that, GM has warrenty on the engine till 100,000 miles, injectors till 200000, you say you replaced the injectors 5 times, that must be a EDIT record, where did you get your fuel from, the injectors are the same as the high pressure cummins uses, what aftermarket devices being used,

Cummins Power

I live a small country town in Indiana. 125hp injectors, 90hp. chip, 5in exchaust, gauges. My friend Peanut. Has the same exact truck like mine and he gets 30.5 mpgs. in town.

I'd bet that they're both going off the overhead MPG readout.
Boxes and injectors make that thing useless.
No way are they getting 30+ mpg.

Must calculate by hand, taking into account bigger tires than stock if they've been added.

I have never in my life seen a 6,000lb truck get 30 mpg in the city, let alone on the highway. I drove the flatest of flat 28 miles everyday for 4 weeks, and the best I got empty was 20.6 I know there is better out there, but not another 10mpg in the city, unless its being towed around town and has a slow fuel leak.

BTW, I doubt too many people are swapping over 2002 D-Max for a Cummins....most arent even paid off yet. Sorry.

And the trouble would not be getting the ISB to bolt to the Ally... It would be getting it to talk to it.

HOHN was gonna post but his avatar blew up when it saw 30+ mpg

30mpg in town , Realy ? Wow... Not!!.. I met a guy here local with a CTD all hopped up with what ever he had in it( he bought the truck already bombed). Anyways, I was talking to him about his truck and he tells me He gets 30 miles per gallon. I tryed to keep a straight face. Im sure he was getting that from the overhead mpg readout too . This guy was so proud of his 30 mpg that I didnt tell him his overhead was useless and unaccurate.

I saw him gun it as he left the parking lot and leave a big cloud of black smoke,,, probably 30 gallons worth of black smoke.

Fine you people don't have to believe me, you are not the ones that are driving my truck. I had figured it up by hand and still got the same thing as the overhead readout. I think that you are just jealous. I hauled pigs down from nothern indiana(25ft. steel gooseneck trailer) and I was getting somewhere around 20mpg. Thats with a trailer too!!!
