(D25 springs if I'm not mistaken)<br>He also has a 3-inch body lift, which lets him clear the tires in front no problem.<br>He'll have to give you the particulars of the body lift, as they aren't as easy on our Diesels as they are in gasser Dodges.<br>(the intercooler needs to be relocated, or extended, or something like that)<br><br>Which came first, the dump bed or the body lift?<br>Did the dump bed create the need for the body lift?<br><br><br>phox

Phox...You da man.....You answered, my question and gave me a solution at the sametime..If I get this right, alls I've got to do is, get say 2-1/2 -3" skyjacker or whatever, front replacement spring, "chuck" the 2" spacer, and add whatever I added to the front to the rear axel...right?? Then, I won't have to get, new shocks, screw with the intercooler, track bar, steering stuff, body lift and whatever? I think if that will work, I'll save the body lift for my own ragged "ssa".<br><br>Steve<br><br>P.S. if you spell the bad words backwards, the computer and the ADMINs...go ***????

Steve, Phox is correct, 2-1/2" D25's and the 3" body lift is the ticket for additional clearance. The brand is Performance accessories, and they dont make one for the diesel equipped truck, so some modifications have to be made. If you search in the TDR fourms, under "Body-lift", I give all the particulars/pitfalls about it. I don't regret doing it, I love it, and wait till you swap injectors, or do head work, piece 'o cake.

The dump was waaaaay first, in fact it was my first modification (truck was a mear 4 months old), I did it for work reasons, it is very funtional, no drawbacks.
The body-lift went on just this last January, initially for ease of injector swapping/more engine compartment room (hence the relocated batteries), then I found other benifits from the lift. Ease of bell housing bolt removal(6-speed is huge), am now able to remove the shift tower from under the truck, without removing the interior console, ease of trans support/crossmember removal, more clearance for wider wheels (new 10" now, and no rubbing on anything, and removed my steering stops), also now I added a front reciever hitch without modification to the facia, which I couldn't do without the body-lift, direct bolt on now, and generally more room/access everywhere, asthecis of the lift were only a bonus, but I do think it looks nice.
So anyway, no, the dump did not require the body-lift, however the dump made the body-lift more of a PITA to install. On a "Normal" truck, the body-lift should take not longer than a few hours, throw a dump in the mix, and add a day to that.

Heberam,<br>Another option is using Rancho's 3 in spacer. it is listed for the 1500 but i checked w/rancho and they say is is made the same as the 2 in for the 2500. I have the 3 inch spacers and they work great.

Diesel Dan...That might be even better, I already have the Rancho 2" leveling kit, and if all I got to do is change the spacer better yet!!! If I have any problems, I might PM you for your local contact..My only concern, and obviously proof is in the pudding, and your pic shows it can be done, is the spacer constructed the same as the 2" for dodge diesels as far loading ( strong enough)?? I know the local installer will probably tell me no, and try to sell me a 4-1/2" lift....<br><br>Steve

It has like ball and socket arrangement like on the big Euc trucks if I remember right. When the bed is down, the female half of the ball and socket seats over the male half and forms a somewhat seal. It is a very cool set up for sure.

Cab over big trucks used the ball and socket deal for many years. Stacks bolted to the cab and raised with the cab for service.
