General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Does anybody else get the feeling that the exhaust is going to sound really goofy with that? I can't tell for sure but it looks like the pipe is just kind of "shooting" the exhaust into the cone. I've got a couple of small exhaust leaks and they're pretty small but they make terrible drone sometimes. I can only imagine what that megaphone is going to do???

Well, it looks like GM is going to be the next Flame thrower. Only a matter of time before that starts a fire. The 6.7 just looks like 2 cats back to back except it is a cat and a particulate filter. Holy smokes, the engineering is getting way stupid. More brains then common sense syndrome.

Maybe there's a shield that goes around it.

I think they need to get their brains shielded from galactic stupidity.

No I don't believe it. We're missing something. C'mon guys, if we can think of the possible hazards that go along with that type of exhaust, I'm sure their engineers did too before they put something together like that. Or maybe there is no hazard, we're just making a big deal out of it. BTW, won't that thing be way loud? There's got to be another piece...

What is that empty hanger barb for? Looks like the exhaust hangers for my exhaust, but it is painted chasis color with nothing around it. For gasser models, maybe??

I guess if you drive in reverse it sends the fire back towards the cab?

That's the more efficient heater design.

What 6.0 are you talking about. There is no 6.0 dmax's in GM HD trucks.
