it was a reg cab 4x4 GMC with an allison...this thing was sooo smoooth and quiet...felt like a gasser..i thought i was driving the 6 liter gasser most of the time!...accelerates quick and the TC feels tight.....but the feelign is totally different compared to my 12 valve....its hard to describe but my dodge has like a grunt to it...this thing did not...when i drove the old 7.3's they also had a grunt not as evident as the cummins but it was still there....the 6.0's dotn have grunt either....
very nice smooth truck but i guess they're trying really hard to make them feel and drive like gassers....now i know what everyone is saying....

Thats exactly why i like an inline diesel. They pull like a son of a gun down low. The V-8's just dont have that pull, and thats what i dont like about them. I drove a 99 7.3 stroke the other day with a superchips, and it ran ok, but it didnt really have much to offer below 1800rpm or so. I was pulling about 8k lbs of hay the other day. Hitting the hills at 1200rpm in 3rd with the convertor locked(in valet mode), and just pulling right on up gaining speed anytime i wanted. That is the sole reason that i love inline diesels, and refuse to buy V-8 until they quit making the inline's. The V-8's are like gassers; they love to rev, but at low rpm's just stick a fork in em They are nice truck's but ill stick to my old clanky 12 valve.
