Because good ole USA chases work out of the u.s.
I know a guy who used to build GM trannies. e said that they would build most of the trans at his place, then send them to mexico to get a few more parts puton so they could benefit from some sort of tax break. Pretty bad that it's more profitable for them to ship parts out of the country, then back in than to let Americans build them 100%

Ford/GM 2500/3500 trucks are 90.3/89.7 respectivly USA made parts. This info comes from Detroit News web at time of Nissen advertizing their new biggest truck was American made. Both 2500 DodgeCummins trucks I bought, '01 and '03, were assembled in Saltillo,MX. Fit and finnish looks great on both trucks as MX is just a assy point.

My Dodge was made in Fenton Missouri and it is the same year as yours.

Look under the truck............
My truck has spent almost 5 yrs now as a resident of NW Indiana, it's been in the salty roads its whole life during winter and the frame on it was still nice and black when i got it 2 yrs ago. It still looks darn good today. When I bought the truck there was a little rust here ot there from wear and tear, otherwise it was clean as can be.
