Does this bother anyone else?

If Ford started selling these would you change over to Ford to stick with a great engine? Or stay with Dodge if they threw a mercedes powerplant into the mix. From what research I have done. Ford only owns a small part of Cummins. They are also tied in with IH for a few more years. I really like the Dodge for the style and interior look. The Fords are just to plain for me. Lets hope they sign another 20 year contract

first off, FORD DOES NOT OWN CUMMINS!!!!
secondly, what is so special about this ford? there are pics of the engine, but i dont see anything so great about it.
EDIT just looked at it again and see what looks like a 12v valve cover. although this is interesting, it will never happen. people put cummins in fords all the time.

What is it that you are trying to show us under the hood?
I'm guessing by what you said that it has a Cummins in it, am I right?
And by the way FORD does not own Cummins. It used to own about 10% of Cummins stock but no longer does.

its not uncommon but they are all transplants. you can get a cummins in ford trucks f650 and bigger, but thats only because dodge doesnt make a truck that big. if they did im sure that option would disappear
and to answer your question "does it bother you", no because that truck is about 3 years old. why would they used a 3 year old truck as a test mule?

Dodge has the contract for Cummins 5.9 sales in the US. But if you leave the US you can get the 5.9 as an option. This truck is in Brazil. Sold in Brazil at a Ford dealer off the lot. Look at the truck in the picture. That is not a hack job. That is all factory

The Cummins page you posted is 3-4 years old. Things change. I personally hope Ford never sells this motor in a f250/350. I love my Dodge and all my past Dodges

What version is it? It looks like a 12v valve cover, but I don't see an IP.

And yes, the incessant repitition of the "Ford owns part of Cummins" rumor bothers me. I actually had someone tell me this week to look it up on Cummins' webpage and see that Ford really does own them.

yeah i figured it was in a different country due to the liscense plate in the second pic. anyway, i wouldnt mind a ford/cummins if it came to America now, but after seeing what the new fords will look like, i may have to decline

im sure if something changed, they would change the website. either way, FORD DOES NOT OWN CUMMINS. like the link said, ford owned a small part and sold it back, end of story. search for "ford owns cummin(g)s" and you will find tens of posts about it

Ya everyone is correct Ford owns no part of Cummins blah blah, however I have heard Cummins is not locked into to Dodge, and an undisclosed automotive company just signed a deal with Cummins in 2010. Is this true who knows, but I did hear it from a pretty reliable source.

I have seen press releases online... No reason to doubt their reliability...
