Does anyone here daily drive there dually?
#2
Yes mine is my daily driver. The only thing that I could say is, its kinds tricky getting into some parking lot spaces around the city here.
It seems pretty small to me, my other daily driver has 18 wheels.

Pros & Cons?
Con:
It's big.
Needs 6 tires.
It won't fit in many parking spaces.
It gets about 1 -2 mpg less than a 2500.
Pro:
It's big.
It will haul pretty much anything you can hook to it.
You always have a couple of spare tires.
It's easier to merge into freeway traffic. (Most folks get out of your way)
If you're in a collision with another vehicle......"I'd rather be a Hammer Than a Nail"

I drive mine every day here in Southern California, ($50.00- $70.00 every 4 th. day in fuel) I feel safer driving this than any of the other trucks I have owned and I know my family will be safe, and as long as the other person is not in a semi or a Metro-Link train I feel confident I will be the one going home at night.
I drive downtown Los Angeles with no problems other than dodging the J-walkers in the crosswalks.
The mileage is a bit less but I don’t care, the people seem to notice your truck more driving down the street, which could be good or bad.
Because it is a dually and is wide you have to have ICC identification and clearance lights, and you have to install LED’s so now you are lit up like a Christmas tree driving down the street, so you don’t blend in with the scenery.
People in small cars seem to have a death wish and drive in your blind spot.
Instead of spending $800.00 for tires you get to spend $1,200.00.
What I find annoying, it seems like all of the parking lots are striped for sub-compact cars and are both to narrow and too shallow for my truck so my duals are on both lines and I stick out into the aisle. People are constantly walking into my pintle hitch banging their shins and I constantly see people who park next to me dragging their butts across my fenders when they get out of their cars even when I am in the truck.
Also it looks like most of the fast food restraunts like Jack in the Box, Arbys, Hat, Booger King all have narrow abrupt turns in the drive through so you have to maneuver around so you do not buff your tires, the moron behind you always pulls up to your bumper as you are backing up, I now will ride my tire up onto the curb to make the turn.
You also have to keep your distance at the window so you don’t run over it when you leave.
Narrow alleys or driveways can be a problem especially when backing down them.
I can drive mine forwards, backwards and put it in small places using just the mirrors.
It’s like driving something from Mad Max.

I drive mine everyday and it's about 23' long. I do take it to the city once in a while.
Bank atm drive throughs are a big pain. If it is a stall and not a drive up, I can't fit.
As mentioned, fast food drive through's are terrible.
You usually get to go first at any intersection!
I have no issues with driving mine everyday. I thought it would be more of a pain than it is. Even my old 2001 truck wouldn't fit in parking garages (too high).
I'm not wild about buying 6 tires but it's not that big of a deal.

like everyone else said: two extra spares, looks cooler, safer, scares the poo out of people on the hiway, especially when you git on the stacks, and who knows, twice now, ive put between 2000-3000 lbs in the bed from finding "stuff" from work, and takin it to the scrap yard. other than buyin 6 tires, its not bad.

Before I got a scooter and a Jeep and my little Neon, I drove it nearly every day. Now, the scooter gets most of the miles in fair weather followed by the Neon in not so fair weather and the Jeep in the winter.
Pros
It's really really big
It has a lot of metal around you
It is noisy so they can hear you coming
Hard to get in small parking spaces
Cons

Yup ours is a daily driver. Short 1 mile trip when wife goes to work. Not real good for it, but we do hit the interstate about every week and blow the cobwebs out of the cylinders.
Had to drive in to the Medical centers in Houston the other day. One of the streets was a narow 2 lane. With illigaly parked, stopped vehicals on both sides of the street, the dually would not fit between the cars. I had to stop and wait for someone to move, could not back up with the line of cars behind me. Much blowing of horns. Oh well, when someone moved out of the way I was able to get thru. No parking spots, and too tall to fit in the parking garages. Had to use valet parking, they have secret driveways etc where they park the big stuff.
On big open parking lots, I try to go to a remote area and park. There is a parking lot by a bank and grocery store at Gessner and Kempwood in Houston that has several long and wide spaces that will accomidate a dually with a trailer, prolblem is ricers think the can park in the middle of those spaces.

I drive my dually every day.
Its big, its wide, its loud, it looks cool, it passes F-150s really loudly (or is that my foot on the floor every time...), it passes V-10 gassers really loudly (again, probably just my right foot), and people get out of my way. Whenever I drive I car I always get tailgated because I'm only doing 5 and not doing 25MPH over the speed limit. The wonderful thing about driving a dually is that the tailgaters just dissapear behind the truck. I especially like it when the ricers start weaving from one edge of the road to the other edge of the road trying to see around it.
In parking lots it may be a pain, however its fun to see the people coming the other direction hurridy get over to the other side of the lane from their original position in the middle of the road. Not to mention the wonder chorus of car alarms that start going off when it shifts into 2nd at idle.
It seems more stable at higher speeds than my 2500 does, though it does ride a little harder.
It looks really cool with the marker lights all lit up in the morning/daytime/evening (they are on no matter what ).
Its that much more fun to say your broke 4 tires loose in a powerslide after it rained instead of just 2.
...
List goes on and on.
