I am a mechanic for a case dealer, inveco was the one who had the patten on the 5.9 and sold it to cummins. The inveco engines in the new series3 580 and 590 backhoe's look like a 12valve cummins same block same valve cover's,and you can use cummins part's for most situation's water pump, injectors ect. Some diff in motor's is inveco is internally balanced with the injection pump running off the rear of the motor.Makes for a smooth running engine.

Annother possiblity...

Just as Caterpillar has discontinued being a 2010 HD Truck engine supplier, they will be supplying their engines (blocks and internals) to Navistar who will be adding the emissions equipment to the 15 Liter engines later in the 2010 model year. I think there is an good chance Ram (the new name being pushed for the truck line up) wiil retain the existing hardware, blocks and internals, with modifed emmisions hardware engineered by Ivecco of europe but sourced in the USA. Keep in mind that the dollar is reaching new lows which makes any euro sourcing of engines and accessories that much more expensive. SCR will be the way to go, eliminating the fouth injection event, advancing the injection timing, and thus increasing fuel milage!

I wouldn't hold my breathe for this. Toyota builds oodles of their own diesels in use all over the world. Why would they start outsourcing now. I would rather have the yota diesel myself. OK, Flame Suit On...
