He probably still would have beat him at the track. anyways try talking the snobby "p. dude" into going to the track! Some people have skills and some don't the ones that don't shouldn't buy Porsches IMO.

Know what? ..I own a Porsche and know lots of peo that do also. I have been a member of this board for quite awhile and it goes like this: Walk up to a person in parking lot that getting into his Dodge and ask him about his kdp or lift pump or whatever and I can assure you most will tell you "I do not know what you are talking about.
Same is true about the P.car guys that most do not know a thing about them.
But go over to the "Pelican Board" and just like here, you will find a whole lot of good dudes that will converse with you.
Mostly it is a perseption problem or somthing....I do not drive around with my nose in the air .......just ahead of you (take a joke here ok)
The next time you see a P. car owner ask him somthing, I will bet he will be as freindly as you are.
Enough allready

You usually find old hippy types with really cool 356's, SWB 911 S's and 914 - 6's (Some SCs) that know how to drive em and know what a flat spot in a tire feels like at 70. Most of `em are making less than $60k/yr and are close to retiring. Will takk your ear off and drink you under. The yuppie crowd has destroyed what a true Porsche driver really is. They're a lot like CTD drivers. Love their cars, have rebuilt them themselves several times (not with credit cards) and actuall know a thing or 2. You can usually spot a yuppie. They'll be wearing a tie to track day. They have radiators and front engines. I'd venture to say fuel injection but I don want to offend the true Porschephile who is preserving their bone-stock 914-6 in their 1-car garage of their $60k house.

Classic example of the old "few bad apples" cliche...

I have had my D.C.T.D all apart in my shop, My P. car strong from here to Shynoah all across the shop ....Whats that make me??? ans. -way to intimate with this stuffff.
I guess if I made 60 k a year i would have someone else do this.........but there is some satisfaction in " doing it right I guess.
I think I am a old hippy "Cant quite grab on to the New and cant quite let go of the "old"
Fast cars are just that. Fast...and the P. car is not really a 1/4 mile machine all thoe they do ok..........but as soon as the road gets twisty is where they shine.!!

Actually, Captain probably made a "clean kill" on a guy that had no idea he was supposed to be racing. He was probably just cruising down the highway minding his own business when all of sudden some freak in a big Dodge truck starts going nuts next to him.

Picture this at some Porsche discussion board....."Uhhhh....I think maybe some redneck in a big Dodge truck tried to race me today."

Just keep that nonsense up there in Washington. I don't want some idiot in a 7000 pound truck running over my wife and son because he wants to pretend he has a sports car.
