I agree. I did boosted launches, drag racing, mudding, etc for over 100k miles (80k of those were modified and 20k of them were over 400hp) and never had a problem. These auto tranny's are a lot tougher than you think and there are many people on here that tow with factory tranny's and never have a single issue. I'd say he got a factory flaw.

I guess someone forgot to tell my transmission it was junk, cause it just keeps on going And I haul with it, do locked to locked shifts all the time, have ran it down the dragstrip probably 50 times at least, pulled it about 4 times, and it refuses to give up

Well lets see, I pull #10,000+ tractors on a bumper pull trailer right now (anyone have a cheap goose neck?) and I have had no issues what-so-ever... I have been pulling our practice sled all spring in preparation for this summer and on the right night every stoplight is a different 1/4 for me (closest track is 100 miles away). I ran my stock tranny for a good six months with no problems at all. Even moved myself from my Marine Corps barracks in sunny California back to Wisconsin over the mountains and across the plains on a stock tranny and a pretty well loaded truck as I was hauling a buddies recently purchased '84 Chev lifted 4x4 behind the whole way.
So I guess someone forgot to tell my transmission it was junk as well.

I've only towed "heavy" several times. An office trailer 30' long once for 25 miles. A 26' gooseneck camper several times Shepherd to Pasadena and back mostly. And one lowboy LOADED with pressure washers. Two gas engine hot waters and 17 other electric hot waters. Front axle somewhat splayed out... pulled that from Grand Prairie to Shepherd.
Pull a #5,400 full/2k empty tank trailer pretty often, and customer trailer units from time to time.
I'm at 166k with no problems. I'm knocking on my wooden desk with the other hand!

most auto's (ford dodge gm) will last plenty long if the engine is kept stock. There will always be bad apples out there/factory defects etc... For every "well my brothers friend had a dodge tranny crap out..." story theres always "well my uncles sisters ford tranny slips badly" and "my allison just blew up" stories to go along with it.

Not bad mouthing the Allison, but weren't they plagued with bad electronics problems at first? My neighbor had his get stuck in park at a car wash (while I was working there so I saw this happen), and the trans lever just flopped around and never locked in place.
Seem to remember him telling me some "brain" pooped the bed and needed replacement?
