Could have been, but its so **** cold out that i'm to lazy to climb up into the engine bay or under the truck to verify the gear ratio. . .etc. . . I dunno if that was the sight, but was trying to instead check the gear ratio of the truck itself.

I'm not sure you can find out the gear ratio without looking at something on the truck or giving the dealer the vin. Did you check the glovebox?

There's nothing at all under the hood of my 04.5. There is some info in the glove box, but it's not very comprehensive either.

I could'nt get a direct link to work, but if you click the link below- on the first page near the bottom click "Contact us"
2nd page- click "I need customer assistance"
3rd page- click "send us an email"

On the email tell them you would like the BUILD SHEET for your vehicle. You will need the last 8 digits of your VIN and some other info.

They will send an email back and you will have all the information that you could possibly need for your truck.

If you have stock sized tires give me an RPM at a MPH and I'll tell you the ratio.

No dice on the stock tires, I have 20" wheels and 37" tires, hehe otherwise i'd do the calc my self as i'm a rock crawler guy as well.

No info in the glove box, already looked there, its bare, just my insurance info and random other stuffs.

I'll just have to suck it up and look under the hood some time soon, its just so cold and its probably gonna snow again today.

Just heard this on another forum: Jack up the rear end, rotate one of the wheels and count how many revolutions the driveshaft makes.

Just look on the window sticker for the truck (assumign you still have it). The late model Rams do not have the gear ratio under the hood or in the glove box, or on a tag on the axle. The only way to figure it out other than counting rotations is to look on the window sticker. If it says nothing about the gear ratio, then it's a 3.73. Otherwise it'll list 4.10 as an option.
