Diesel Transplant
hi
i have a 1981 chevy with a 350 bored to 360. i want to put a diesel in it because i can get bio diesel very easily and i want to power for towing. it is a heavy truck as it has a 10 ft flatbed tha use to be a army trailer. any suggestions on what to put in and how dificult it would be would be helpful.

simplest would be a 6.2 or 6.5 gm diesel with a mechanical pump. it will bolt right in basically. not much power avalable though [~200hp/400tr] with the stock 21:1 compression, 300hp/500tr can be had with the lower 18:1 cr.. a 12v cummins would also fit, but much more work is involved
