Ha, I've bought several of the Tiny-Tachs this company makes, excellent product. I use one all the time for setting idles.
I saw where it would be easy for them to extend into the diesel timing light business with what they already had and emailed them about it. The company's owner (who might have also been the only employee at that time) emailed back that he would check into it.
That was at least four years ago.
It looks like he took my advice.
I thought Tiny Tach's price on the light would come in much cheaper than other units on the market because their tachs are so economical but it doesn't look that way. You can pick up diesel adaptors for a gasser timing light for a couple hundred cheaper than what T-T is offering.
I also see that their accuracy is +/-2°, don't think I like that.
I have no doubt it is a quality product but you need to consider if it's what you really need.
Diesel timing lights are the best thing going for checking timing but don't help much for changing the timing. They are excellent for shops that only set to the factory timing and are only using the light for diagnostics, i.e. slipped gears.
With just a light it's a trial and error guessing game where the timing will end up when you move the gear unless you do it a lot and get a feel for how much gear movement relates to the change in timing.
If you don't do it much the dial indicator method is much faster.
I've used diesel timing lights a few times and considered buying one but decided to spend my money elsewhere.

Mike's Custom Truck in North Dakota has a timing light wich looks like this one. Its a really nice little unit. He was saying accuaracy was around +- .3 Like he said its not the most accurate.
I used one of those gas timing lights with the pulse amplifier at school. Lots of wires dangiling over all over though.
Remeber a few years ago ya sent me a waste gate. Still working good. Has not blown even with 38 psi boost.
