General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Is diesel really the way to go??? I'm having second thoughts.

Not to mention the fact that seals dry up if they are not "oiled" up every now and again. The exhaust will rot out faster with the moisture just sitting in it, etc. etc. etc.

How are you saving money?? Two vehicles to maintain, insure, inspect, plus a payment or possibly two, or if you have the cash a payment and taking money out of investment accounts??? Yea, saving money there!!

The hardest thing on most machinery is to sit idle.

Just tell her to shove the go pedal down more than usual

Thatll get the engine up to warm temps quickly.

Instead of getting a third vehicle. Why don't you drive the truck to work 3 days aweek and then drive the van 2 days. That way both vehicles get run good and they both will last longer.

Don't worry, I'm not going to let the truck sit around, it'll get driven plenty, just want to make sure I'm taking care of it and this is just the situation that I'm in, not a big deal.
