How did I know that you guys would jump on this when I started the thread!!!!!

Diesel is dang near a by-product of crude oil when it's refined into gas. I used to pay up to 50% less for diesel when I bought my 93. I paid 70 cents when unleaded was 1.15. How could diesel cost as much as gas (don't give me that supply and demand crap). Like I said earlier, after refining crude, there should by almost as much diesel as gas when its left over. There should be plenty of diesel on the market!!!!

Now with all this consolidation with the oil companies we are headed for the next thing to a Cartel in the U.S.

Isn't it amazing we even recognize OPEC as a legal price manipulative organization that can control prices at will, and supply at will, and we allow oil trading in our markets? Let see now, I'm big oil and I but a futures contract for 1 million barrels due in October and I call OPEC and tell them I need them to raise prices. They do, and oil goes up to 69 dollars a barrel and I make millions.

Does anyone understand this? I'm really freeking out over how we are dealing with the oil situation. I think our food that we ship overseas should be bid up by not supplying the world with enough so our farmers can gouge the oil countries who can't grow crap in the sand!!

We should eliminate oil futures from the Market in the US and watch the panic it would create. The price would fluctuate so bad that everyone else encluding OPEC would run into financial difficulties.

Whew... I feel better now

Sounds like a good idea. We as a nation are way too compassionate to do something like that. If we did do something like that many people in our country would be concerned about other nations not liking us, (not that they do now). Time for this country to grow some hair. Actually the best solution is to find something other than Dino fuel to get us around. Then we could say "GO EAT YOUR OIL" more kindly.

$3.19 per gal here in Folsom Ca today!!! Now I understand where big business gets it's bad name!! Just wait until we have to pay 4.98 for each locally grown tomato because of the fuel cost!!

If I only had about 1000 guys we could stage a protest ourselves! Blocking traffic around the Capitol of the 6th largest economy in the world would certainly raise some eyebrows, and be a great party!.

I'm sure the new energy legislation (corporate welfare bill) will solve all these problems. Let's drill more domestic oil so we can send it to Mexico and Chile.

Actually, I've heard that yields of gasoline or other lighter fuels can be increased from diesel via a process known as 'catalytic cracking'.

So, if they want to supply more gasoline, they can make it from diesel if they want..

I found a place that was only $2.79 for diesel this morning. Good thing cause I was on 1/4 and really didn't want to pay $3+ for fuel. I couldn't believe I was actually happy to find fuel for $2.79.

99.9 cents per liter

Big article in todays Windsor Star. Regular gas has hit it's all-time high at 99.9 cents per liter. Multiply that times 3.78 (U.S. equivilent) and you can see what we're paying here in Canada.

$3.77/U.S. gallon and 30% is taxes.....
They showed that a few places near here normally pay almost $1.30/liter x 3.78 = $4.91/ U.S. gallon

If our Prime Minister were to do this in the U.S, he'ld be lying right next to JFK.........
But unfortunately we're more passive here in Canada..
