Detroit 60 series 500, are sweet.
We just had some furniture delivered from a family estate, and the guy was driving a XLT Freightliner with a Detroit 60 series 500, He gave me the full overview of the truck, those things are sweet. While they were unloading I was just sitting up at the engine watching it idle, lol. The guy said on a good year he clears $320k delivering furniture as a self employed contractor/Driver, he showed me some pics on his camera of his viper and other things, I never knew you could make that kind of money driving those rigs. Said he bought it for $30k, almost makes you wanna be a truck driver..........almost. lol, but man, i wanted to ask him to let me drive it.

1st thing you should know it this... truck drivers can tell some whoppers!! I should know, I is one.
2nd thing you should know... Last year I spent about $60,000 in fuel alone. I sold my truck in October, so I didn't even have a full year.

He said delivering Estate furniture is the money maker, and being owner of the rig. Otherwise he said it's alot of work for not much gain if u deliver under a company or deliver other stuff. But I was more interested in the engine.

I asked him if his truck cost like a quarter mill or what, and he said "you could probably buy one for how much ur dodge was" ,and i laughed and said I got it for $8k, and he was like whoa really. I guess he thought it was a new one because he said his buddy just paid $35k for a dodge cummins, and than said he got his XLT for $30k. oh well, maybe he got it at auction, or just likes padding his story, lol.
