dc outsells ford!
reading on money.cnn, that ford has revised it's losses for the 4th quarter of last year to 12.7 billion dollars,in part because of poor sales of their popular f series trucks.hmm wonder why.anyway towards the end of the article it said that ford lost 2nd place in sales to toyota, and for november lost 3rd place to DC.

Last night on the news it was reported ford lost x number billions of dollars last year do to poor sales of Trucks and SUV's. I think want it should have said Ford lost Billions of dollars in truck sales due to warranty repairs and no one wanting the Power Stroke.

Man-o-man am I so glad that I listened to you guys BEFORE I bought my first diesel. Just gotta hate a truck that makes you smile every time you drive it...........

the article worded it to say that the loss was in part due to poor sales of their f-series pickups and suv's.i believe they were just trying to be nice to ford and not say it was due to poor sales of the f-series diesel pickups which i believe are like 40% of their pickup sales.

Remember the big picture too -- gas and diesel prices went up, and Ford is heavy on the truck/SUV production. Add in all the extreme-green people pushing for the diesels to be banned, yada-yada-yada, along with a rather poor product offering in the 6.0 PowerStroke, and it all leads to poor sales. Combine the poor sales with plant closures with guaranteed wages, and of course they lost lots of money!

Although I love my cummins, ford has a decent truck . Its not only the engine they put in them that hurts them, it was high fuel prices, inside bickering, and some poor judgemnets .It would be quite a hit to the economy let alone to the consumer to have ford close up . Dodge is foriegn owned. Ford can be also. Nothing stopping that. All the makers have farmed out most of the parts to outside labor. We are slowly losing our " American made" title and is hitting us hard in the back pocket. It is a shame to see well known names like ford, gm, or dodge to be owned or at least majority of the shares be foriegn owned. If you look at how much of the parts of anything is made outside of the USA , you can pretty much see we already are foriegn owned!
