Dallas Oil Change

I just moved to Northwest Dallas, and was wondering if there were any reputable places to have my oil changed. I am usually pretty skeptical about who works on my truck, so I am looking for suggestions. Thanks.

Just change it yourself, and then you will know that it was done right. It only takes 15 minutes, and you will save money.

I,ve got a good place in Lewisville. Main Street Shell Lube and car wash on Main Street. Two brothers (from the same Mom) own it. They have done all my vehicles for years. They are also a distributor for Royal Purple.
I also have a very good diesel mechanic if you need one.

I agree with OldSchoolDodge. Do it yourself. Even if you find a place to do it that you like, they have tremendous turnover. On any given day you can get a dimwit who may leave your drain plug or filter loose.

Buy a 5 gallon bucket w/lid.....3 gallons of oil from walmart or autozone....order box of filters from geno's garage online......and your set. A Fumotovalve finger touch drain will make it even easier. Autozone will let you dump the waste oil for free in their collection vat. Good luck!

Why is it that everyone always quick to say to do it your self? It could be that the person asking for a trusted place to do it for him is asking because he is no longer able to do the work. Maybe the person asking has an injury or arthritis or who know what, that prevents him from working on his truck. Maybe he just likes to pay someone to do the work so he has more time to be with his family. Its not like the person has to explain the reason(s) why he wants someone to do the work for him! Just remember that just because you can do it your self doesn’t mean everyone can.

DBLR,

You made a very good and valid point. There are circumstances that come up that you pointed out that we probably had not thought about.

I guess being I can't work on my own truck do to an injury, it kind of hit home reading hey do it your self one to many times over the past few days. BTW, I was not trying to pick on any one or make them feel bad nor start a fight. I just wanted people to think some before posting the normal why not do it our self.

Great idea, Mike!

.... and while they're under the truck - maybe I can get 'em to change the clutch while they're at it!
