Cummins, No More Work On Dodge

Haulin, you are correct, all commercial ISB engines are rear gear train. Dodge opted for the front and they changed that for only them.

Other then the ECM , and the rear gear train on one engine and front gear train on the DC version , there is no other difference in working on them or troubleshooting the engines, Cummins Insite will not communicate with the DC version. Each Cummins Distributor may be different.... but we don't even try to work on the 3rd gen., we take in all first and 2nd gen work , has nothing to do with warranty. and DC cannot deny any warranty just because Cummins did work on it..... that is just like telling a car buyer he or she cannot have her car worked on anywhere but the dealership. at my distributorship we have taken care of some travelers that have had some problems that have not required us to hook up to the ECM and taken care of the problems for them. we have over 30 3rd gen dodge trucks between all the branches and dont even attempt to work on any of them, but really havent had too either.
