cummins isc
my buddy has a 2005 pete 330 with a isc cummins in it. he starts it up and lets it idle for about 10 minutes int the morning, then back it out of the shop and shut it down. then comes back about an hour later and the truck cranks but wont start. he isin't too mechanically inclined and said hes had the cold start switch replaced, and some check valves in the fuel sys he isin't too sure which ones. anybody have any ideas. no idea what fuel pressure is while cranking or rail pressure either. the truck runs fine other then this problem

Hmm, have the new ISC's gone to CR system? I work on "older" ISC's and they are pretty much the same as our ISB's but a few different electronics here and there for the fuel system.
Does it crank over the same speed or at a slower rate?

ISC and ISL have all gone to common rail back in 04. However, they still use an "updated" CAPS pump. Much the same but alot smaller. I would first see if any codes are present. Its going to be hard to troubleshoot one without the special tests that can be run through Cummins Insite. Sounds possibly like a pumping element in the pump is going out.
