Cummins In A H2 Hummer
#2
Search for the Local Cummins Shop in that area. They will be able to give you more information about this than anyone. I know that this has been done with the Duramax, but I have never heard of a cummins being installed in one. That will be one sweet ride.
Of Course: anyone with the time and the money could do this!

There was interesting reading in the new Diesel Power mag where they shoe horned a Dmax into the Hummer. had to do all kinds of redesigning and oil pan modifying to fit. I doubt the Cummins could Physically fit due to just the heigth of the motor.
It would be really cool to see if it can be done.

Here is an older thread from the TDR that has a Hummer/ Cummins conversion. From the looks of it, it was not a low budget conversion.

See Fleabay for Hummer/Cummins. There is at least 1 (H1 though)

Why would anyone want to waste a good Cummins in a worthless H2? The H2 is a POS offraod in the 1st place, now you're adding an additional 500 - 600 lbs up front to make this slab even worse handling and less capable offroad. GOOD MOVE EINSTEIN!!
Are we gonna call it a Hummins or a Cummer?
Oh well, I'll bet it never sees a gravel road let alone a real trail....
H2's are for sissys....

I suppose the fellas up in Kalispell, MT could help him out www.fordcummins.com
Personally, I wouldn't waste the money on an H2. Couldn't he afford an H1 with a 6.6 diesel or the International CTX?

I would think along with the motor, you would need to take tranny, front axle, suspension,,,,, why Not just do a cab swap? shorten the dodge 2500 frame and place the hummer body on top? be a heckuva a lot easier to make room for the body, and you know you would have a frame suspension that could handle the weight, sure you might end up witha bit of a body lift look as you try for clearance, small price to pay & you would end up with even more room for 37's or bigger tires.

definetly more practical than trying to do the drivetrain swap however

It has 37" tires on it already .He already spent a ton of $$ on a innercooled turbo set up & still would not tow good & melted a piston so built a stroker motor with billet rods, forged pistons, aftermarket crank at a tag of $30,000 turbo & motor build & still not happy. We found a motor, tranny, transfer case 06 Cummins. He owns a machine shop so fabing is not a problem.Took some measurements & has more room than it looks,he just wanted someone to make it look factory & turn key.
