SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- When DaimlerChrysler Chairman Dieter Zetsche, surveying Chrysler's poor performance, said Wednesday that "all options are on the table," he sent a speculative fury over the fate of the company racing through the global automotive industry.
By the time Zetsche, his moustache drooping, uttered his last no comment of the day, reports had already begun to hit the wire that General Motors (GM: news) was considering adding Chrysler (DCX: news) to its already crowded garage.
