Your young, buy the truck you want now before you get married and have kids. A wife and kids will drain you of all your funds and it will be much harder to purchase the truck of your dreams. Just kiddin, If your dead set on a diesel then YOU know what it takes to get one hardwork and saving your money. If you want it bad enough you will achieve it. I would look for the older 555s and 12 valves.

pay cash for whatever you drive. trade your way up as you save. debt and credit is not something to strive for. cash is king.

Lastly, do not rush into a vehicle. I rushed into my 98 and I've paid because of it. Take your time, and you can find a good truck. Look at a 12v, will be cheaper to bomb if thats what you're gonna do.
I agree with looking at a 12 valve, cheaper.... and don't rush into it. Think realistically and not just "I want a diesel".

As for the buying in the US, if you are buying new - I believe I read in another thread that if you buy in the US and take it back and register in Canada, doesn't that void warranty? I could be wrong, as I am not from, nor ever have been from Canada, just thought I read that somewhere.

Thats assuming you can even buy them. A lot of dealerships in the US have a policy of not selling to Canadians. Not sure if thats throughout the US, or just in border states.

Well, I understand your wanting a diesel. I, 24, just bought my first about a year ago. I wanted it when I was 16 and in high school, but being that I had to work for everything I had and have I couldn't afford it. Also, I know if I had had it at that age and maturity level it wouldn't have lasted long. If you want the truck I would strongly advise saving and purchasing it yourself. If you do get lucky and get it you probably wont be able to bomb it if you caint afford to purchase it. I've already spent the cost of the truck and then some bombing and repairing it as it breaks. They are not cheap! I would advise doing something similair to what I did in high school. Get a job, work hard, save money, and buy what you want. Maybe look at something cheeper to build. Ex. an old chevy 1/2 ton and hot rod it or a 4x4 toyota. I built a yota rock crawler in high school with my own money and 2 hands and although it wasn't cheap it was alot cheaper than what I've got in this thing. I love my diesel and wouldn't trade it for anything, well I can think of a few but not many, but if I had had it in high school I wouldn't of had a social life as someone else stated. JMHO. Good luck and have fun with what ever you do!

I'm starting to change my mind about my truck. I still really like it but it's becoming too much of a hassle. Seems like it's constantly seeking my attention. Also, it's a major pita to park. There's very few parking garages that are high and wide enough so I can easily park.
