go with the 12v no computer or electronics to leave you sitting on the side of the road. the old 12v always start and give very few problems if any.my .02

The 12V is a much more reliable engine. There are a lot of fuel system issues with the 24V. The 12V can make HUGE power with a relatively small investment. I think some of your sources are misinformed.

FYI, Im currently selling my 01 24V....and have bought a 98 12V.

This isn't engine related here, but if it was me, I'd probably skip the Overdrive unit with 3.50 gears and 36" tall tires. I'd probably be thinking about gearing down some in the diffs actually. Just me though.

Thansk! In Washington it has to be 30 years old so I have to wait until 07.

I would love to see pics of your truck. I love old trucks (and new trucks but they are common)

The overdrive will be the last mod. I may not need it, I agree.

that dodge looks awesome...im in awe of the crew cab whats that from?? mint mint truck....the ford looks awesome too!

anyways..3500$ and 6500$?! thats no labour included in there right? those things dont install themselves....sigh k now add all the goodies to allow u to bolt things up right...transfercase...proper length driveshafts...u want how much power? ur gonna need another 4000$ for a tranny for that power with either motor

lots of money for mods...money for a turbo or twin turbo setup....

HAVE FUN THOUGH AND GOOD LUCK since ur starting from scratch why not put an 8.3 cummins in there and get back to us all

That's the way Dodge used to make real crewcabs. I can fit six adults in there without being crowded. It weighs 7000 lbs and I get 19 mpg.

The 12v will definitely be easier to convert. They'll literally sit there running happily even if you disconnect both batteries. (Providing you hold up the fuel shutoff solenoid)

I have to say, I am impressed! That is one of the nicest looking trucks I have seen. Great job!

I bet you get looks wherever you go. Everyone walking up and asking you about it. Isn't that cool.

You motivated me - thank you.
