I bet the noise from a -43* F start up is not fit for man or beast . Was there was a lot of engine complaints ? I feel warmer here, I've got at least 60* over you.

No offense, but you can keep any place that gets that cold. If a duck knows to fly south where it is warm in the winter, I sure hope I do.

It's hard to hear anything through all the layers of headgear....

A guy asked me once: 'What's the difference between 40 and 50 below?'. I said .... Uhhhh ..... 10 degrees? He then said 'Well, YEAH but the REAL difference is at 40 below you walk across the road and back in your slippers and housecoat to get the mail and at 50 below you don't come back'.

In minus 40 I'd be walking across the road in a snowmobile suit not house coat. That's crazy.

Even in North Dakota, -40 is pretty chilly.

I've never had to start my truck in brutally cold temps. -24F is the worst it's been, and only once.

Typical "bad cold start" is still above zero.

Realistically, after around -35* it dosen't matter.

Well your -40 below makes my -14 below today (not counting wind chill) seem warm. The coldest I've started my truck was a few weeks ago at -23.9 below zero not counting wind chill.

Made it up to -10* this afternoon. Had to go out on the back porch and sunbathe for a bit . Truck purrs like a kitten in the heat wave. If it stays like this I may have to put the fan back on the truck

It's a balmy -35°F here right now. As was said, once it hits that, any colder doesn't matter much.
