I think that thing is sweet. But Rick is right a 6BT would be better.

What is a cummins 378. Also it states the conversion was done around 1981 and if I rember my history right the b series engines wern't around yet.

oh come on rick! that thing has got air brakes and a REAL jake!

i reckon a 8.3 would be better (only if it had a jake....)

I think that it is a sweet rig, but I agree with everone who thinks that the engine should be a 6-in-a-row. However, even with the V8 it is still cool. I like the tag axle and truck tranny, as well as the jake and air. I would get rid of the wing, visors, fender flares and stacks. Also, I think that this particular pickup would look much better with a flatbed. I love the semi-truck bumper!

I am looking into doing a project like this with a Chevy like this, but with a 354 Perkins engine instead.

5.9 B Series

The 5.9 B Series started in the very early 70's in a joint venture with Case. It was used in industrial applications long before we grew to love them in pick-up trucks.
