Can adding 2 cycle oil to fuel contribute to excess breather blowby?

I started adding Walmarts 2 cycle oil to my fuel to help lubricate the lift pump as many suggested. I am using the measure of about 1 oz of oil to 1 gallon of fuel. I've noticed my puke bottle and the underside of my chassis is now covered with oil. I never had this before I started adding the oil. Any opinions or facts?

No, it won't increase blowby. Sounds like the puke bottle is full, how long has it been since you emptied it?

Only thing I knew to drain was the fuel bowl.

Is there something else to drain??? It's funny I just read this and over the weekend I was under my truck checkin something out and I noticed a hose about the size of a quarter and it had a drop of oil hangin off of it and a little bit of smoke.

what make this weird is I just started to add walmart oil about 3 tanks ago.hmmmmmm

My truck has NEVER HAD A DROP OF ANYTHING BEFORE...

So is there something else I need to do or just stop putting in the 2 stroke???

I will say it again. Putting in 2 Stroke oil CANNOT make the breather drip more. You have some other condition.

Well then it must be coincidence............I relocated the puke bottle, washed everythign down and now will see what's up.

I was just thinking the rings were becoming too lubricated with the additional oil and some compression was getting past them down into the crankcase and blowing oil out.

Sometimes me thinks too much...............

Okay, so is it supposed to drip at all. My truck has never leaked, EVER. I've only got like 49K.

Either way, I'm gona just stop usin it. she ran fine without it.

With the external crankcase ventilation, an "oil leak" is part of life.

There's no such thing as "excessively lubed" pistons rings in my book! While extra oil up top might increase consumption, it will NOT increase blowby.

There are lots of ways to handle the crankcase vent. One is to plumb the vent into your exhaust pipe. Another is to use an old sock doubled over several times and zip tie it in place.

The crankcase breather on my truck always has a drip hanging out of it. Never a drop of oil on my garage floor or driveway, but I can tell by the oil on the underside of the converter cover that it does come out while driving. Everyones truck I've seen does the same thing. Nature of the beast. Don't consider it an oil leak, it's just your Cummins sweating horsepower...

both my 05 and 07 have a drip of oil every couple thousand miles even before i started using the 2 stroke thats what it is a crankcase breather tube!!!!!
the 2 stroke is protecting your fuel system and injectors
Now i had to do an emissions test the other day and was talking to a diesel mechanic and he had been around for 15yrs and stated that the new USLD is showing its abrasive nature after 30 to 50 thousand miles on injectors and pumps he stated unoffically they are telling all customers to use additives for lubrication and 2 stroke is one of the best.
for what its worth its in goes in every tank for me

The 2-stroke oil mixed in with the fuel is getting burned along with the fuel. If you have a leak it is just coincidence. Nothing saying you have to continue using it either. I will continue, but that is my personal preference. I have already replaced a VP44 and I am doing everything I can to prolong the next one. There is really no proof that oil will help, but it sure can't hurt.

Well I've found one leak that has been contributing to my driveway mess. It seems the water separator is now leaking fuel. I won't blame this on the 2 cycle oil a being added. It's just odd that I never had a leak and after adding the 2 cycle oil now I have a leak at the water separator and some excessive oil from the crankcase vent tube.

I shake my head and just chalk it up to Murphy.................my spotless clean concrete driveway is a virgin no more..................for now it's soiled.
