My lil ole truck starts fine. -6 this AM with no plug in one cycle it wouldnt cycle too it just shut off right away. Started up with no hickup and i was fine and dandy. But i work at an international truck dealership and wow hard startin
what is bad is we have 154 new trucks That where prepped to go to texas( Were in Iowa, 20 minutes south of the Minnisota border) Reason we have them is they were going to be cement trucks and the company that is building the bodies is in MN. Anyway
All gelled to nothing. I dont mean fogged or anything its frozen solid. ( we poked it with a stick, Great mechanics huh?) But being they are going to texas there is also no Winter protection on them, No block heaters no nuttin ( big boy engines so they dont have grid heaters anyway)

Stormtrooper- Have you tried Power Service Diesel 911? It's in the red bottle. So far this winter I've ungelled two 3rd gens with it. I drained the canister and filled to the top with the 911, replaced the filter and poured the rest of the bottle in the tank (not much left after filling the canister). Both times it took around 15-20 min and they were both running. Periodically I would attempt to start, just to try to get the treated fuel circulating. Like I said, it takes a bit, but it'll start. Either that or get into a warm garage overnite. -Steve

We have 15"+ of the white stuff here in southern Colorado. Last night it was -18F with a windchill approaching -40F Both trucks started up just fine with the block heater being plugged in a little Total power fuel additive in the tanks. Although it too forever even with the block heater plugged in for them to warm up. As for this weather it's been quite a few years it's been this cold in Colorado but I'm loving it... Bring on the snow and cold!!
Merry Christmas to all!!

Codes: 0341- Cam position sensor 0483- Cooling fan speed 0521- Oil pressure sensor. It's under warantee, as much as I hate to say it, I personally would take it to dealer at this point. And hope they have a diesel tech. -Steve
