Building Exhaust for Mercedes

Hey there guys, this website has always been so helpful to me with my Cummins I figured I would ask a question about another Diesel.

This is for my Mom, she owns a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300D and my Dad says she needs a new exhaust. So what I was planing on doing was at the same time as building my Exhaust on my truck I would build her a new exhaust on her car. I was wondering If I should go any larger on the pipe than what It comes stock? And mabye buy a new Straight Through Muffler. It has a turbo on it so I dont think backpressure is an issue just like Our Cummins. I wont put nothin like a 4" Straight Pipe on it or nothin but mabye a little bit bigger than stock just to up her mileage a bit. I plan on going T-304 throughout the whole system.

Any Ideas on this thing? Is it just like our Cummins where the less backpressure the better or what?

Thanks

yup, 2.5" should be sufficient, but I would see if I could squeeze 3" in there... why not, right?

Well I am redoing her brakes soon and while the car is up on the lift I am going to see what I can do under there. And see what the stock size Exhaust pipe is. Because just like our trucks, going too big while under a certain amount of HP will actually hurt it wont it? Like going to a 5" pipe on our trucks on stock HP will actually hurt your power. So I am guessing it is the same with this Benz. I dont know what the stock size pipe is, but I dont want to go too large for it.
Also what about mufflers? I want a Stainless Steel and something that doesnt restrict flow but is as quiet as possible.

Thanks again.
