Biodiesel
Someone told me that you can't run biodiesel or vegetable oil in a 24 valve engine. Is this true? What do you have to do to your truck to be able to run this? I remember reading some things on it but I didn't really read into it. I thought you could run it on 24 valves too but I wasn't sure. Can you?

Oh, you can just there have been lots of toubles with the lift pump on it. If you stop by www.greasel.com and read up on it they will not recommend running with a 24v cummins due to that lift pump failier.

I've been running bio for more than 100 k miles. I have kicked the lift pump and installed a holley blue, killed the stock fuel lines and the quick connect at the tank (10mm rubber hose OK for bio) and a part of the wildcat fuel system from the stock filter to the VP44.
Greasel is using straight vegetable oil- completely different than biodiesel.
One problem I have with bio is that over here there are some stations that sell contaminated bio or stuff that's not even fully processed (residual fats)- that (expletive of choice) will really clog filters, make for hard starts, low power etc.

According to http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodi...s/default.shtm
there's only 4 Bio stations in the whole state of NY. If West Babylon is close to you, you're in luck.
