best tires

What are some of the best sled pulling tires? I have the BFG MT's right now and they just don't seem to hook up like I have seen many other less agressive tires do on trucks around the same power and drivetrain. I also have BFG at's that I have not pulled with yet but are almost wore out. I will be getting new tires here soon and would like to try something that others know work well for sled pulling. I plan or running them during pulling season and switching when not pulling.
Thanks

dick cepek makes pulling tires...kind of pricey though.

you could always try to find a set of old ag tires and then cut back a lot of the rubber left.

I would go with some Boggers and cut out the small paddles. GREAT TIRE!!!! Lower the pressure to apply more coverage. Do yall have to run a certain PSI when sled pulling?

DM01,
From what I've read, the best tire choice varies a lot depending on power and track conditions. I've heard from several sources that good BFG AT's are a good all-around choice, until you get into hardcore pulling, after which you'll likely want multiple sets. I've never pulled myself, so take the above for what it's worth...
Also, we're putting together a Cincy-area get-together over on TDR if you're interested...

I'm picking up my new tires today - 305/70/17 Buckshot Maxxis Mudders on 17x8 polished Bajas. The Maxxis mudders are just a little less aggressive than a BFG MT, and are siped and pinned for studs. Gateway Tire in Tricounty has pretty good pricing on 'em...
I'll let you know where the Meet 'n' Greet is once it's finalized - probably within the next month or so...
