Hello, new to forum, am also a member of the tdi club (have a diesel jetta). Many over there who use bio diesel report a positive with the cleaning action of bio diesel. It seems that the tdi engine which has an egr valve (cooled egr) is prone to intake manifold clogging. I have seen this personally. Many are disabling or reducing the egr duty cycle to help prevent the clogging of the intake manifold (black tarry like substance). They are reporting that bio actually cleans ths buildup. I imagine the entire fuel system will benifit from this cleaning action. Lubricity concerns have been mentioned as well.<br><br>If you check out the site, they have a separate forum just for alternative fuels. Very informative. I could see a great benefit and wish more was readily available.<br><br>BTW, will pick up my new to me 1997 CTD 2500 tommorrow. Hope this helps, Kevin

Let's see - more expensive, can cause corrosion and seal failure, less power, causes more strain on the pumps because it's thicker... is it just me or do the negatives outweigh the positives on this one?
