Anyone installed a Semi APU?

My girlfriend's dad drives a truck for JB Hunt. He owns his own rig so he does most of the work on it...I have been "willingly" recruited to help him install his new APU unit in a couple weeks so he won't have to leave his truck idleing constantly. Is this going to be an easy job for two people? Sound's like a pretty complicated deal and im not sure if I really want to break my back! I'm not sure what brand it is or anything, but from what I understand, it's a small diesel engine and generator and it also circulates the coolant and such so the he can use the heater and a/c without running the truck engine..how hard of a job is this going to be?

Depending on the brand I don't think there is much to do. The ones I read about don't tie into much on the truck, I was originally under the impression that they were connected to the trucks radiator and somehow the AC of the truck. However I read that they have their own radiator and AC system and in the winter they use electricity to run the block heater. One good thing about these is their exempt under the "anti-idling" laws. I guess it all depends on the brand he got. Good luck.
