Not so bad
had a 99 F-350 Extd cab LB,ran to 114,xxx,bought it new, 80hp superchipped, torque conv. went at 1200mi (it had a factory recall), the only thing I had to do in all those miles was a right upper ball joint, it is still one of my favorite trucks I've had. After that it was an 03 F-350 CC SHORTBED(dealer goofed on order, I drove it 6500miles then traded to them for a new longbed for 500.00. Both were 6.0, the second one blew the egr twice, exaust filled the cab due to leak at turbo flex line, and head gaskets went at 63,000. I did have a juice w/atti. on it though. Dealer fixed the head gaskets and the day I got it back I traded it for a Cummins/Dodge. (See how I put Cummins before Dodge?! ) So far I lik the Cummins, so much I bought another.

Well, we've got one of each...
'06 2500 quad CTD 4x4 - So far, the fuel mileage is 3-5 mpg less than the Ford shown below, but the rings aren't seated yet making it too early to tell. I like the way this truck turns and handles better than the Ford and I think it feels a little more torquey in the low RPM's. I wish this truck had manual locking hubs.
'02 F250 Crew PSD (7.3L) 4x4 - This is my wife's favorite of the two...more roomy and comfortable interior, more substantial truck-like feel. Better fuel economy and ride. With 95,000 miles on the odometer, this has been a very reliable and trouble-free truck.
I like both about the same, but my wife definitely prefers the Ford.

I've owned 10 vehicles in my life so far, and I'm happier with this Dodge than I've been with any other vehicle I've owned. My '93 Mustang GT comes in second.
Of course now that I've written that, something bad's gonna happen :-)
