Any Ford to Dodge dzl converted guy on here??

like the title, a die hard ford fan told me to tell him of 3 people who are not satisfied with theyre ford, cuz of low mileage problems (HG and stuff)

I told him bout the one 6.0 with less the 5000 miles with 2 blown head gaskets and later the motor was tight

so some more?

I was never a die-hard Ford fan, but I did work at a Ford dealer in 04. We had the new vehicles delivered on Fridays, and I would have to do the pre-delivery inspection. One Friday we were backing 3 new superdutys off of the transport, and I happened to notice a puddle under 2 of them. Sure enough, they had popped headgaskets. One had 3 miles on it, and the other had 5. Those weren't the only brand new trucks that we had problems with. There was one that blew the turbo backing it off the trailer, and another one that had the check engine light on. The diesel tech actually loves the 6.0, because he was booking so many hours. I do have to say though, they got a lot better after the 2004 model year. I don't think they have any problems with getting them off the trailer anymore I just hope that Ford has better luck with the 6.4, but I won't be holding my breath.

I had an 01 7.3 4-Door, 4WD, it was set up just like my Dodge, with the exception of I did NO mods to this truck, it was 100% bone stock. I put 3 clutches in it and it only had 74,XXX miles on it when I traded it off. Which I still consider low mileage on a 3/4 ton and up diesel truck. The interior stuff broke ALL the time. The fuel pedal FELL OFF going to KY to pick up a Foremost cattle chute. The emergency brake release handle broke 4 times, the cable broke twice, the starter went out twice (once leaving me stranded). Previous to that I had a 98 Ram 24 valve, I had to get rid of it, because my sister wrecked it on a bridge, hit a brick "Welcome to our town" sign, and telephone pole, and a mailbox. She was unhurt,(but I sure wanted to hurt her... ) but the truck was DONE. She flatened the bedsides, ripped the rear axle completely off the truck, the only undamaged part was the windshield, and I have no idea how that did not break. The point of that story is, had she not killed my truck, I would still have that '98. But it happened, and I decided to give Ferd a try, and will not do that again anytime soon. They (Ferd) will have a long way to go before they can prove to me that they have the same quality in their trucks, that I can buy, for a few thousand $ less in my Dodge.

he also tried to tell me:
Which is PBR's sponsor? Ford
What does Tuff Hedeman drive? 6.0 PSD
lets count the fords and dodges, there's a way higher percentage of fords on the world, cuz they are the best. lol
He knows Cummins as the overheating engine (water temp)

I had an 00 PSD. It was a good truck. I was running a straight downpipe, TS chip and AFE intake....very slow. I had it for 9 months and sold it for my last truck. One of the best moves I have ever made.

Had a 99.5 with a H2E, LPG, Extreme chip, BTS tranny, etc....ran 12.92's all day long.

Had a a brain fart one day, took the mods off and sold them, and got a 04 6.0L.

Had that 4500 miles, and 4 months, traded it for the Dodge...lost 4k on the trade, but it was well worth it.

Coolant leaks (like most all of them)
Rear Main (twice)
Cooling Fan stuck on in the cold of January (Dealer Fixed Twice...still did it)
Crap MPG (Compared to the 7.3 and the CTD)
Moonroof pop-up air deflector would vibrate soooo loud, it was annoying to have the moonroof open.
Constantly unlocking the TC.......even going downhill
and lastly..............

A crankcase FULL of diesel, and the dealer said that 10% fuel in the oil is acceptable.

The very next day.......off it went to Dodge.

Funny thing is.......I come to find out that at 35,000 miles, the new owner seized the motor and Ford voided his warranty......

Like I said.......best $4,000 I spent was getting rid of that 6.0L!!!

I owned 2 Fords prior to the Dodge. The first was an 84 F150. Nice truck, it had the 300 I6. My next one was a 90 F150, also with an I6. I wasn't crazy about V8 diesels, so that really narrowed the choice down for me. I was never unhappy with Ford, I will say this though, they sure can build a good gasser straight six.

That's right JRS - those F150's with the straight 6 would run FOREVER, but F**d's "heavy-duty" pickups were a disaster; we had a '93 F-350 PowerChoke, and '94 F-350 turbo PowerJoke - those trucks started falling apart at around 70K miles.

Cummins not only converted me to Dodge, it converted me to Diesel... had so many problems with the F**d diesels that I used to despise them.
