Another "Is this a good deal?" thread... 1998 12v
Ok, I'm thinking about buying this truck. I'll have to check it out first... But I thought I'd see your guys' opinion on it.. It's a 1998 Ram 2500, 12 valve Cummins, 145K miles, 4x4, auto (with rebuilt tranny and HD torque converter installed 60-80K miles ago), ext. cab, long bed. In addition it has a camper shell, 3" lift, 35" BFG tires (~50% tread left), and 4" exhaust. Apparently it has never had a fuel plate or other engine mods. The first owner was a contractor, and the second owner owned it for about the last 45K miles, he wants to get a brand new Ram with quad cab for his new family. The guy has an auto shop and sounds like he's in his early 30's. Body and paint seems to be in good shape according to pictures.
Now, how much would you pay for something like this?? Would you consider $15K a good deal? Give me your opinion! This truck is exactly what I've been looking for...
By the way, anyone have a CARFAX?

in my experience in looking for just about the same truck, its just about right on target. i would see trucks in the 12-15k range but not w/ a shell, exhaust, lift or tires. i say go for it and if u dont, i'd like to be in line right behind ya

Dang... The price still seems kinda high to me though... I found another truck, same EXACT thing with about the same miles except it's a 96 AND it has a banks power pack. And he only wants $12K for it.. So hmm.... Only problem is, I gotta drive 2.5 hours for the 96, and it might end up sucking.
