once again tq, your the only guy i know that has found all these tranny problems with the allison, i can tell you more than once, that i know of many guys running over 100hp with 100k on the allison and still working flawlessly, the guys that are limping trannys are running chips over 130hp that limps the allison

as for injectors they are exspensive to replace when not under warrenty..... but then you can go on ebay and buy used ones like the cummins for 300 dollars

and this motor is a lb7, not a lly as stated by some the first generation

My brother-in-law has an 06 D-max and he really likes it, no problems so far. I've driven it and it's a really nice truck...great power, awesome transmission with 6-speed allison. I like how you can manually shift it with the little push-buttons. His is an 06 with the LLY motor I believe, the lesser powered one.

Once again FREDW, Why must you come here to brag about the Dmax. Are you maybe a little insecure.

Because he can. Get over it. I garontee that if a newer cummins owner claimed hit the 500k mark everyone here would be singing its praises.

A buddy of mine bought a high mileage Duramax 02' (180000+). It works awsome and has had no problems. We hooked up in two wheel empty (his is a 2500) and I pulled him like a rag doll. We did it again this time him in 4 wheel. He pulled me a little. About 10 feet and we started to spin. All stock. I would say its a good truck. If Dodge werent here it would be a Dura. BTW his is a LOT faster on the highway. Ol Jim Beam

I've heard of them rolling over more then one million killometers (620000miles). They were pilot trucks used to warn oncoming traffic about the mobile homes they were moving down the highway. They had to do the clutches at about 500000kms (310000miles) just because they were worn out. I'm sure they were stock.

I would only get the warm fuzzies if he was over 1 million miles.

Mtomac, if there is a CR Cummins with 500k I doubt we would post it on the Ford site like you have or the Chevy site. It's not that strange of an occurance for a Cummins to hit 500k that we have to shout it from the rooftops!

I can tell you where a Ford with a 6.9 is sitting and it has 1.2 million miles on it with 2 rebuilds. Same block. Sleeved once. This is in a tow truck in Florida. It is still used as a backup truck today.

2 rebuilds, there are a few Cummins out there that have a million without having the pistons out of the bores, bearings once and the head was refreshed at some point too.

Yes everyone HERE would. There would be no need to post about it on ford or chev sites. I didn't think brand wars were allowed here and thats exactly what Fredw is trying to create.
You know as well as I do he loves to argue.
