another duramax hits almost 500k in four years

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...QQcmdZViewItem

we are starting to see the miles pile up on the duramax, looking to be a proven motor, with a few bugs that had to be taken care of early on, looks like it still looks good and was told their is no more squeaks from the first mile put on it, mileage was around 13 mpg towing, and most miles on the truck were from towing, good to see

now what would the valve of a 500k cummins be worth

now for a vin check

Good to see that. I know lots of people who have them and love them. None of them have complained of any major problems yet.

From what I've seen I'd be interested to see if it's gone that long without a transmission job...

what amazes me is that the truck still blue books at 20,000+ I would never pay even 5,000 for a truck with almost 500K on it i would never buy it with that many miles to begin with. it's just crazy to me

It sold for the Buy It Now price. Seems like a lot of money for that many miles but they all seem high to me. A vendor at work has a mid-80's Blazer with 500k on it. Original 350 and one new auto tranny and it is still going. Guess all the automakers get it all right occasionally.

I have always known the Duramax was a good engine, sure its not a cummins but you have to give credit to it even if it needed injectors at "only" 241,xxx miles.

My truck has 159345 that is about 353 miles a day. And I hate buying fuel

I haven't had any trouble out of the old girl yet.

I wonder if a vin check of warranty work done or customer charge through dealer/s, would show more than what is posted. All the ones I know/knew (2001& 2002's )were stock also(fleet and personal), but had numerous injectors changed out, and transmissison work and rebuilds, and lots of limp mode repairs and tow ins.

I think the reason it is still running is because it is the lly motor instead of the lb7 or lbz. They sacrificed reliability and mpg for horsepower.
