AmsOil Ea BHAF?

Does anyone know if Amsoil has an Ea nanofiber air filter of the same dimensions as the typical WIX or Napa BHAF? Ive checked the web site but its cross reference says that it has been discontinued. Perhaps the site is wrong. Any tips would be great.
Thanks

I installed an Amsoil EaA 189 air filter in my 2005 truck last May 27th, 2007. It depends on the demand for filters suitable for your year of vehicle, whether or not there will be one available. I queried the Amsoil warehouse about their latest air filters being available for other vehicles such as 2007 335i BMW cars and 1994 Virago 750cc model motorcycles, but they did not have any available because of little or no demand. They also did not have oil filters available. I am strickly an Amsoil user, because of their lubricants superior performance.

Yes......check out the web site. I had the Ea 189 also, until the dealer thru it away . Very good in my opinion. I like the drop in as I think it provides cooler air. JM02.

Ok. But is it the same size as the paper BHAF? Im not trying to sound like an ignorant broken record but I just wanna make sure. I was getting ready to run out and drop $45 on a napa filter but if I can go Ea Id much rather do that even if it is more expensive.

Filter # depends on your flange diameter.

annabelle, why did the dealer throw out the EaA 189 that could not have been in your engine compartment for more than a few months? For a couple of months I worked at a dealership, in the lubrication and fluids maintainence department, trying to get the young attendants to be more concenscieous about doing a proper good job. Unfortunately, one of the things I noticed was that air filters in all types and makes of vehicles were being thrown away and replaced with a new one when there was still direct light rays to be seen brightly passing through 90% of the filter medium. The old filters were like new, but they were replaced. When profit is more important than doing an honest service for the customer it was time for me to give up trying to teach an old dog new tricks.

I placed the Amsoil sticker on top of my air cleaner cover with the date it was installed and the date when it is to be cleaned. A piece of tape is stuck on the cover that says, CLEAN WHEN FILTHY-DO NOT REPLACE written in red ink.

In my 2005 filter enclosure holder the EaA 189's dimensions seemed slightly too large for the openning, but it was carefully and firmly pushed into it and the air box top replaced. It is sealed properly and causing no problems. I previously used Amsoil's sponge rubber and tack oil air filter, but the new Ea filters are more convenient to use and it does a more efficient job of air filtration.

I have no idea why they replaced it with a Moper filter. He did tell me only to use Mopar filters. When I said fleetguard (which is what I used) mads Mopar, he had no response. He also told me I needed to spend $3,700.00 on 6 new injectors. He said I had contaminated fuel. Truck run and idles fine. I also mark the date of filter changes on tape applied under the hood for all to see. They also broke my oil dipstick handle and replaced the fuel filter cap so tihjt I had to remove it with an extention and breaker bar.

Dishonesty is not the best policy in the long run.

Just like the operator's manual suggesting that Mopar products are the best to use in a Chrysler vehicle, your dealer is more interested in making a sale for maintenance done and parts sold than being honest and admitting that other manufacturer brand products are as good or better then the Mopar products. I do not trust the parts or service department of any vehicle dealership to give me an honest answer or to do the best job on my vehicle, or to save me from unnecessary expense. I do nearly all the repairs and maintenance on my own vehicles. I am not a trained mechanic but I have forced myself to learn how to do most repair jobs and all maintenance, because then I know the job is done properly and whether or not the work was actually done. When money is involved honesty is severly tested. If they can over charge a few extra dollars from each customer they become rich when all the the petty theft is added up. annabelle, your dealer stole your perfectly good and superior Ea air filter and sold you an inferior Mopar air filter that you did not really need at all. My truck has not seen the inside of a dealer shop yet and I am going to keep it away as long as possible. I like getting work done at places where I can stand and watch what they do.
