94 chevy conversion to 12v
Ok i will try to not to make this long. My grandad is not doing to great with cancer for the 3rd time now. This time he is worse than he has ever been. Anyways he has a 94 chevy 1ton and is fed up with it. Many many injection pumps later he decide to give up on it but he still likes the truck. He really wants a 12v motor to put in there. How much money would he probably be looking at to do this? He said he doesnt care if he would have to buy a new tranny or not. Looking at finding a donor truck for all of this. Any help would be appreciated. I just want him happy and not stressed out over the ordeal. I just want him happy.
Thanks,
Kevin

junkyard complete 12v $2000-$2500, junkyard trans $1200-$2000. The rest is little things like driveshaft mods, trans mount, engine mounts, maybe some frame strengthening, but most of that can be done cheap or free with a welder and some steel. Of course theres always little things that add up, but if u can find a donor truck at a junkyard u can make it in one swap from that and save alot of money.

I could proabably make anything that needed to be fabbed up for it. I really didnt think it would need anything like frame strengthening because the motor in it is the....heck i dont know what size but its the diesel. I really dont think i have the know how to do the swap either and nobody around here wants to atleast help or have anypart of it. Were trying to find a way to get it done just dont know how yet.?
