93 Club Cab vs 7.3 Powerstroke

Ok guys, I need some help. My bros boss challenged me to a pull. His is ext. cab f250, dont know what year, mid to late 90's, I say. He heard I turned up the pump (just a little, but not enuf) and said anytime we'll hook up bumper to bumper. My question is this. Through my bro, he said I better have a good clutch because when the chain gets tight he will launch and "tow that truck around before that clutch engages." Now my clutch is original, I think but no slippage yet. What techniques should I use? I am not highly fond of sand bags and fuse pulling just so I win. I want this to be as fair as possible. Any suggestions? I was think along these lines:

lower tire pressure 5-10#
4lo, 3 gear
Attach chain to gooseneck ball

This will probably be on gravel as he uses that truck daily and same with mine. Thanks in advanced!

If you use the truck Daily , don't bother, your just going to tear up something expensive , and , on gravel , neither of you will likely go anywhere at all.

Yeah, what's the point? Traction wins, not power. And traction is a function of weight and tires. If you are so worried about breaking something while "towing" on gravel you might be better off avoiding the big show.

If you're going to do it use 1st gear not 3rd. 3rd is going to make it very difficult to control wheelspin. I could be wrong but I think that those furds may weight more which will give him an advantage so some weight would help. Air down the tires further than 10 lbs and make sure you top off the tank (for weight). Put your ball reciever in upside down so it's higher this will apply more pressure to your tires. If this guys PS pulls like the ones I've seen it'll blow up anyway.

I did not initiate the pull, he did. He thinks nothing but ford and laughed when I told him that I turned up the screw . I have access to another vehicle so breaking something wont be the problem, fixing it would. I have an almost endless bank account so money is almost no problem.

Well, Edited by admin where are the super twins?? lol just bustin on ya.

on gravel I wouldnt be worried about bustin something, go for broke, drop 3rd in 4-lo, and run 20 PSI in the rears. especially if u can hook on the goose ball, traction is the name of the game, if u can get his 7K Lbs to compress your rear springs, that Ferd isnt going to do a thing but eat tires n chip yer fenders from the rock spray!

LOL, bring the camcorder

Wow 18 and an endless bank account, I say save your parents a few bucks and just pass on the pull before you break something If you must pull then at least fill up your tank for the free weight.
