I would like to know how someone arrived at that HP figure. Imagine the Dyno for that amount of HP!!!!!! Of course you can use the old PLANK calculation, but wonder if a different way of figuring this out was used.

I remember back in '75/'76 at NNSYDD there was a tanker there that had a Colt-Pielstick rotary (wankel) power plant. Best I remember, there were four rotors (equaling 12 cylinders) with a HUGE turbo on each combustion chamber(cylinder). The turbos were about three feet in diameter and the air inlet was a good 16-18 inches across. Don't remember the engine speed but 200 rpm's rings a bell.<br>Proceedings had a good write up on those engines 20 or so years ago. I don't think they lasted long. Something about seal problems.<br>Along that same time, there was someone working with direct injection liquified natural gas engines. Haven't seen anything else on them.
