Unhappy 750 HP Duramax with stacked boxes

This weekend at our county fair truck pull all I was hearing about was how this guy with an 05 Duramax has so much power. He laid a patch that spanned two power poles (while powerbraking ) Then I keep hearing that he's got a prototype chip from quadzilla that he stacked with another and he puts 753 HP at the wheels This is ONLY with an intake and exhaust I asked people if he ever ran the dyno, they just say no that's what quadzilla says it is at!!! I was getting so worked up I wanted to knock everybody out that was spreading this false information!!! No turbo work, no headwork, nothing to flow the air required for that much HP, much less the mechanical fuel parts, but everytime I tell someone that its BS, they don't believe me. I see quadzilla has a race chip for the LB7 engines that gives up to 215 HP, but nothing for the LLY It gets me so freakin' mad that I wanna

Anybody else have people making these claims... \

By the way, I helped a friend's brother put water meth on his 05 D-max, and it just plain sucks working on those trucks! No mechanical boost signal, you have to tap the air horn, more electronics and plastic pieces than a whole fleet of Honda's... we finally go it in, with 50/50 it cooled EGTs about 125 degrees or so. He thinks he can walk me, he's got an Edge Juice, straight pipe, K&N, and the water/meth. I think it would be a pretty close race...

Now.. .I have ridden in the much disputed TWINMAX and that is the only Duramax I believe to be near the 600 to 700 Hp mark. That is with multiple boxes and an extra windmill.. To have no other modifications other than boxes, well is just wrong.

Anyone worth their nickel knows how much the tranny is good for before it limps. Its typical now with guys to run 2 boxes that claim 200HP and just say its 300 hp + 200 for box "A" + 200 for Box "B".. so its gotta be 700 Hp.. Right???

Uh... No...

Jim Jones put down 730 HP on his Duramax at the DFW Dyno Day in Lewisville 2 weeks ago.
It is a 2002, I don't know what mods, but I believe he is the owner of Quadzilla.

Check out the results here DFW Dyno Day

I still maintain you don't get 700 Hp with a couple boxes and a 4" kit... The tranny work alone is good for near $5k to hold that..

There are a couple of Dmax jockeys here in town that "claim" major numbers in HP. When you actually talk to them, they are just adding up the numbers and there is the total. Trucks are mostly stock with the exception of the usual airbox and exhaust and whatever chip they are using.

So I guess this means that with all the misc stuff on my truck, I should be be good for a lot of ponies.

Stock, 245
EZ, 65
DD2's, 85
Con OFE is rated for 450 so that counts

Just these alone are good for 845 HP. WHEW!!!!! Life is good!! LOL

Kyle's truck hasn't seen a public dyno. AFAIK, he's still testing different chargers. Like Justin said, Jeremy's truck is single turbo (with excellent tuning).

Over on Diesel Place there is a 16yr old kid claiming 850hp out of his Dmax. What a load of poohpooh. Those guys over there have "kill" stories for just about everything but an F-18 jet? I'm sure that will be accomplished in the next few months though.
