7%+3+90=1000

So, this afternoon decided to go check out a new store in the area and to get I have to go over a pretty steep grade, 7%. The grades about 3 miles long. So, no one else is around, I decided to punch it. I look @ the speedo and I'm doin 90mph. This was about 1/2 way up the grade. I watched my EGTs and they climbed to about 1000 deg. and just stayed there the rest of the way up. So, my question is, what do you guys think? The EGTs, are they High or Low? Just curious. Tye

P.S. I'm sure someone will say/think that I'm crazy.

Questa Grade? 1000° sounds good and 90 up that grade, pretty dang fast. 1000° sure beats anything higher. Sounds like its running great.

Yup, Cuesta Grade. The grade is much nicer now that they have 3 lanes up and down.

hahaha I had the misfortune to drive a borrowed ford pinto over the cuesta grade once. I think I reached about 40 mph. I used to drive that grade all the time. Now I live a little farther south so I hardly ever make it up that way.

Ahh my power test ground I go up and dpwn every day. I dont want to hear you can do 90+. Im lucky to get 75 empty and today well pulled it with out 3200 lb trailer and 1 8 month old colt, had to down shift to 3rd where I had plenty of go but 45mph was wound up pretty good. I miss my 93, it kicked this 95s hiney heck even my 350 almost whoped this thing. Worst thing, even the misses was unimpressed and laughed at it.

Yeah and a REAL one at that!
Only thing I have in So Tx is the harbor bridge over the ship channel! Good steep grade but WAY too short! I can just barely get mine to 1000deg before I crest the top going too fast.

Ok Buckshot, I'll say it... You're crazy!... Just as crazy as the rest of us!!!

Powerstroke_this his 04.5 dually hits 1200 pre at 90mph with 28psi with just AFE intake and 5" exhaust...Do the newer trucks run hotter cause never seen a truck without a box on it hit that high.

Apache, something's wrong with your truck or it needs mods badly.
I pulled Questa with a 15k trailer two years ago in 4th, still going 55 at the top.
#10 plate, 14cm housing and 4" exhaust are the only mods on the 3500.

Yea id say your in desperet need of BOMBs. not only that, but i think you should change ur tranny fluid/filter, oil/filter,fuel filter, and thats if you havent done them yet. im just sayin that because ive had good luck finding lost power with just simple maintenance. but bombs are good too believe me i had a super bombed truck that i pulled a 5er with. its still in my sig, but i sold it on a lighter note....once u do a few bombs....it will be too late, the BOMB bug has bitten you

So is mine.

Bone stock, I could almost hit 60mph, before I got to the top of the hill. Now, I can hit 70 halfway up.

Mine will hit about 1000* with the comp in EZ mode on a 0-100mph run. No hills where I live. Before the comp, I could hit 1250-1300.
