5.0L V8 CUMMINS is a possible GO!!!!!
OH, HECK YEA!!!!! pickuptrucks.com just reported that Chrysler and Cummins are still talking on bringing the 5.0L V8 Diesel to Market!!!!! In the statement is also states that the V8 could be offered in the Heavy Duty Trucks for people that want the better economy but need the heavier frame. This means that the POWER WAGON could also get the new 5.0L V8 in the future!!!!!!!!!!
** Guys I am so freaking excited right now I just pee'd my pants !!!!! I will wait no longer than 6 months after the first ones' roll off the plant floor before I buy one!!!!!!! A RAM with 25 MPG Highway and still get about 15-16 Towing my boat!! Oh yea, Oh yea, Oh yea
Oh and the V6 for the Jeeps and Cars could also still be ON- - - -!!!!

The entire package weight is less in the 1500 Rams. 5.0L = smaller displacement = better mileage!
Test results when they were putting the mules through abuse showed around 25 MPG Highway and 20 City. I would say the 2500's would be around 23 Highway and 18 City.

I think this is great news! How awsome would it be with the option of a V6
Cummins in a Jeep? And this V8 for the 1/2 and 3/4 tons? Great news that is much needed for a company that is in the crapper!

I would have to agree with that statement.... A RAM 1500 V8 Cummins is the best idea since the I6 Cummins in the 2500's. Just hope the emission junk is easy to remove??

For people who don't need a 3/4 ton truck and would still like a diesel option, a 1500 with an oil burner would be great!I agree that a 4 or 6 inline makes more sense than a V8 but if that's all that's offered,I would have to try one.I don't do anything with my 3/4 ton that I couldn't do with a 1/2 ton but I won't give up the Cummins for a gasoline 1500,altough I was tempted when diesel was $3.89 a gallon.

FYI, I received via email from one of those survey companies on behalf of Chrysler a survey on this very issue, so it's at least being considered by Chrysler. I did respond and complete the survey, so I guess time will tell.
