4BT in S10 Blazer - What about the EPA?

I've been thinking it would be nice to put a 4BT in my 92 S10. AFAIK the tranny should mate if I use the adapter that's used in the Frito Lay trucks.

However, What problems will I have with the EPA or worse the California air *****?

As far as I know, the vehicle must meet the emmission standards for the newest part of the vehicle.(the engine or body) So, if you have a 92 truck and a 88 engine, you have to meet the requirements for 1992. If you have an engine from 2000, then it would have to meet the 2000 emmissions standards.

So then I'll just have to keep it licensed in Kansas where all the county wants is your money.
